With a slight nip in the air where I live, its time to start thinking about keeping warm this winter. How do you dress your bed in the colder months? Duvets? Quilts? A simple comforter? Do tell !
I'm all for down comforters on my bed. Those keep me toasty warm during the cold months. Quilts are for couch time, combined with a great movie, hot chocolate, and a husband to snuggle with of course!
Well that's a good question for me because I always have such a hard time finding my look in the bedroom....BUT I finally found a quilt that is new but very vintage looking and I love it. However, I am always tempted to change when I see big cushy beds with duvet covers. Great post.
It's all about the down comforter and layers of thin blankets for us...and, of course, all organic. Truly the best and coziest spot in the house when it is cold.
I'd love to see pics from other commenters. I'm always looking for inspiration. It doesn't get too terribly cold inland on the SF Bay, so I just use a light debut on top of my trusty chenille blanket. I also have like 34875672 pillows that I snuggle up with :)
Winter for me this year has been a Doona plus 2 polar fleece blankets (one is doubled over, so it's technically 3). Plus flanelette sheets. Warm and comfy!
My white down comforter is on the bed all year, summertime it's paired with a light cotton blanket, winter time it's paired with a large polar fleece. Oh, and of coarse the dog stretched out in between us!
I love the way you have dressed your bed.Somehow even I love a cozy and warm look to my bed.I use a nice bed spread and co ordinate it with a nice warm throw to make it look good with matched up cushions and pillows.

I always like to have comforters (quilt styles) and bedskirts.

Um.
With a big black dog.
Is that not in vogue these days? no?
Oh.

With a husband that keeps the wood burner stocked all I can stand is a very light quilt... but I do just love big fluffy down comforters.

Hello,
I really like your blogs - small spaces soo need ingenious ideas, and it's great your blog provides inspirations for that :)

I go for quilts and comforter... and that first image is really lovely and so inviting. I'd be pleased to sleep in that beautifully made bed.
sheet + duvet + coverlet in the winter (and turn the heat off). I like the air cold. :) Looking forward to winter! :)

In winter months (which aren't many in Southeast Texas), I throw one of my mother's handmade quilts on the bed for extra cover.
Oh I like like that last picture! Love the idea of your blog!!
